One4K Ministry Updates

Boys & Girls Club Family Movie Night
10/23/2020

Our Wilmont family hosted the Boys and Girls Club of OK County to a Family Movie Night. Each person received free hot dogs, chips, and drinks before the movie, and were able to purchase movie-snacks during the evening. We enjoyed watching The Secret Life of Pets 2, and Bro. Shawn was able to share the gospel with each person present. One of our members, Cecy Morris, translated into Spanish. Much fun was had by all, and many snacks were consumed! It was a great evening out for families; some set on blankets on the floor, others in lawn chairs and on the bleachers.
Hope Pregnancy Center Drive-Thru
10/22/2020

Wilmont Staff was blessed to be able to help Hope Pregnancy Center's staff and volunteers at their monthly drive-thru Empowered Parenting session. Clients are not able to meet in groups with their EP counselors, but they are able to drive up, remain in their cars with their families, talk with their counselor, redeem their Care Bucks for things like diapers and car seats, and be treated to dinner! Wilmont had the opportunity to not only provide dinner, but also share about our church and invite families to join us for services.
Jordan's Crossing Personal Products
9/2020

Wilmont ladies donated, packaged, and delivered 25 "Go-Bags" for the women of Jordan's Crossing during August & September. Each bag included items such as; electric razors, shampoo & conditioner, lotions, toothpaste & toothbrushes, bar soap & body wash, deodorant, brushes & combs, and more! Our goal was to provide items that a young woman might need if she showed up at the center without personal belongings or is living there without a support group back home. Along with the personal items, each bag had a handwritten card from our ladies with messages of hope and encouragement.
St. Paul's Community School First Day Welcome
8/19/2020

First Day of School! Wilmont and Christ Community Church members were on hand to greet students for their first day of school. Parents and kiddos alike waved and smiled as they drove thru the drop-off line. We had a great time and it was such a blessing to see all the families belonging to SPCS. Please remember to pray for these little ones as they begin the new school year!
Jordan's Crossing Apartment for a graduate and her son
8/14/2020

We were able to help a recent graduate of JC (and her six month old baby boy) move into their very own apartment! Members and Wilmont friends donated living room & bedroom furniture, a crib and baby items, kitchen needs, a Bible, and more.
St. Paul's Community Plants for Kids
8/4/2020

We were able to deliver 21 plants to the folks at St Paul's Community School today. Mrs. Shillow and her staff were thrilled with the beautiful plants and wanted us to share that with you. It may seem like a small gift, but their kiddos will be taught how to nuture and appreciate part of God's creation thru your gift. St Paul's also has an Amazon wish list www.facebook.com/spcsokc/posts/1347411682315958, if you're interested in helping in a bigger way!
Wilmont Prepares for Community Partners
06/2020

The month of June is being used to get Wilmont "community outreach ready"! We've had several groups volunteer time, muscles, and elbow-grease helping to clean and de-clutter the church. Christ Community Church and St. Paul's Community School are moving in and we're so excited to partner with them! If you haven't volunteered yet - there's still plenty to do!
Baptist Mission Center Food Drive
6/2/2020
Members donated a whole trunk-load of food for the Baptist Mission Center's food pantry.

Jordan's Crossing Mother's Day

Wilmont used the resources we normally use to celebrate the mothers in our congregation to bless the mom's at JC with a beautiful long-stemmed rose and fancy cupcake for Mother's Day (along with cupcakes for all of the kiddos).

Regular Ministry Partners

CarePortal
CarePortal is a technology platform that connects vulnerable children and families to people who have something to give. Social workers uncover the needs. CarePortal makes local churches aware, giving them a real-time opportunity to respond.
Jordan's Crossing
Jordan’s Crossing is a residential substance abuse program for women with children and/or pregnant or women who are involved in the criminal justice system. Participants learn the skills to maintain sobriety and effectively parent their children outside the structure and support of residential treatment. Priority is given to women who are pregnant and/or using IV substances.
St. Paul's Community School
St. Paul’s Community School exists to partner with families and churches in the work of nurturing wise, virtuous and skilled students who will use their God-given abilities to bless people for the glory of Jesus Christ and the flourishing of south Oklahoma City. It is born from the Christian conviction that the children of our neighborhoods are made in the image of God, whatever his or her ethnicity or socio-economic background, and deserve the best education we can provide. Affordable tuition at St. Paul’s is made possible through the generous donations of individuals across our city and beyond.
