Oklahoma City, OK: As part of a revitalization strategy passed in 2019, Wilmont Place Baptist Church is partnering with Oklahoma City ministries to reach out into the community with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Wilmont has chosen to partner with Oklahoma Baptists' Hope Pregnancy Center and Child Protective Services' CarePortal in efforts to carry the church's message into the communities on the south side of Oklahoma City. At Wilmont, community evangelism is part of The Journey.
Oklahoma City: Wilmont Place Baptist Church rolled out a new discipleship pathway branded "The Journey" in a morning worship service on Sunday, February 9, 2020. The Journey is part of their new revitalization strategy approved during a December 29, 2019 business meeting. The Journey provides church members an objective assessment of spiritual maturity and a pathway of milestones they can use to develop further growth in Christ.
Oklahoma City, OK: Wilmont Place Baptist Church passed a formal revitalization strategy on December 29, 2019 during a regularly called business meeting. The strategy was a result of two years of prayer and planning as their Future Plans Committee involved the congregation in a process of discovery, communication, and prayer. Wilmont was trained in the Oklahoma Baptists' transition pastor plan at which time they adapted the strategy for a church recovering from years of decline.
Wilmont Place Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist church of 150 active members on the south side of Oklahoma City. Text-driven expository preaching, Bible-teaching, personal growth, and community evangelism define the culture and direct the activities and events of the congregation. The church is working through a formal revitalization strategy in which members become family and the community becomes ministry.
