COVID-19 Update: 3/13/2020

Oklahoma City, OK: We are writing to address concerns over the Coronovirus and how that affects the way we serve members and guests during our worship and other events.

We are staying connected to community resources as we monitor recommendations from those in Oklahoma leadership. We are planning to have our regular Sunday School classes at 9:30 am and Worship at 10:45 this coming Sunday, March 15. There are some things in place that we hope you will find comforting as your church continues to navigate this delicate situation.

1. We have sanitized all hard contact surfaces that come into contact with the public including classrooms, restrooms, large gathering spaces, and entry ways.
2. We are asking all children's teachers to be mindful of objects on-level with children, including toys, decorations, and books. Anything not necessary for routine play or teaching should be moved so children do not have excessive objects to touch that can transmit germs.
   
3. Our Safety Team is meeting with church Staff and the Building and Grounds team Sunday morning at 8:00 to work through contingency planning. We will be discussing future events and appropriate thresholds for the possibility of canceling services.
   
4. In the event services are canceled, we already have the ability to broadcast lessons or sermons through social media.
   
5. We will not be passing the offering plate for tithes and offerings during worship. Giving boxes are available at both south entrances for those wishing to give. As always, giving can be accomplished online as well through our website or through our smartphone app.
6. We are encouraging all classes to avoid offering community drinks or snacks (including coffee, donuts, nursery crackers, etc) until the COVID-19 threat is over. You are welcome to bring personal items with you to church.
   
7. We are encouraging fist bumps over handshakes and hugs. Just know we still love you!
   

Because of our concern for our members and guests, please take personal precautions that you believe are necessary for yourself and your family. If you suspect you are sick or running a fever, please stay home and connect with us online.

Please pray for leaders and victims in the path of this COVID-19 pandemic. We have received reports both nationally as well as from our SBC IMB that many have become open to gospel conversations because of this threat. We pray for mercy to endure, and yet strength to continue through the storm.
