Oklahoma City, OK: Due to continued escalation of COVID cases in the Oklahoma City area combined with the interest of our members to prioritize safety at home, Wilmont will discontinue Sunday School and Wednesday evening activities for the remainder of December. All small group events are canceled. Zoom options still exist for those wishing to continue meeting at various times during the week.
Sunday morning worship at 10:45 a.m. will continue. We encourage all those who attend to wear masks and socially distance as a family. If you suffer from COVID-related symptoms or have been around others who do, please stay home and support the safe measures and sacrifices of others who attend.
Wilmont is planning a Community Christmas Celebration Wednesday, December 23 in the Sanctuary by following the same safety protocols used on Sunday mornings. We hope our Community Christmas Celebration offers a family-friendly and safe environment for homes wishing to focus on Christ during the 2020 Christmas season.
Thursday, December 3, has been designated as a day of prayer and fasting in Oklahoma for pandemic-related issues. Our staff, church leaders, and members request that you add us to your season of prayer during this difficult time. Especially pray for many who have been affected by COVID, and more importantly, for God's people to find creative ways to advance the kingdom of God and to offer the hope of Christ to many who find themselves in despair. This is a wonderful opportunity for the church to be a guiding force in a desperate world.
Wilmont Place Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist church of 150 active members on the south side of Oklahoma City. Text-driven expository preaching, Bible-teaching, personal growth, and community evangelism define the culture and direct the activities and events of the congregation. The church is working through a formal revitalization strategy in which members become family and the community becomes ministry.
