Worship & COVID-19: Updated 3/15/2020

Oklahoma City, OK: We are writing to update concerns over the Coronavirus and how that affects the way we serve members and guests during our worship and other events.

On Sunday, March 15, Wilmont Staff met with the Building & Grounds team, the Safety team, and representatives from our Servants Heart Sunday School department to discuss COVID-19, community recommendations, and the best way for us to serve members and guests at Wilmont. The following was shared during 10:45 a.m. worship.

Wilmont will not be gathering for worship or events throughout the remainder of March. During this time, we will adjust our schedule and provide worship opportunities and communication to our members in the following ways:

1. Worship: We will not be meeting for worship March 22 or March 29. There will be no Sunday School classes during this time. Our worship teams will be meeting with our pastor to broadcast worship events over social media. We would encourage those with a facebook account to connect with us live on Sunday mornings at 10:45. Those without a facebook account can watch the recorded service (link below) after the live feed completes about 12:15 p.m.
2. Wednesdays: There will not be any Wednesday meals or activities for the next three weeks, March 18, March 25, or April 1.
3. Communion: We will not observe the Lord's Supper as previously scheduled on April 5, 2020.
4. Unity Sunday: has been canceled. We will not be meeting at all on that Sunday or canvassing neighborhoods with Easter advertisements.
   
5. Staff In Office: Your church ministers and support personnel will be keeping regular office hours. Please feel free to come by the office to drop off tithes or with concerns and prayer.

What You Can Do:

1. Make sure your email address and cell phone number are updated with the church. You can manage your contact information through Church Central or Adjace, our church apps.
   
2. We post updates online, through text, and on our Facebook page. If you don't have access to one of those media, partner with a friend who will contact you with updates.
   
3. Worship with us. Don't just watch our posts, but worship along with us.
4. Minister to others around you. Many are dealing with fear of the pandemic or inabilities to access supplies. Help others and always be ready to share the gospel.
5. Invite others to church. We heard a charge today from our Sunday School director for high attendance Sunday on Easter. Begin inviting others to come. Offer to go pick them up on your way to church when we meet again.
