How We Can Help
Regardless of where you are in your spiritual journey, we have a plan to help. All who are followers of Jesus are somewhere on this journey - a discipleship pathway. While we believe that each of us are individually accountable to God for our progression along this pathway, Wilmont is here to help encourage you along the way. While no cookie-cutter approach meets every need, we would encourage you to pinpoint yourself along the following roadmap and engage with us to take your next steps. Every member of our church is on this journey and as we grow closer to Jesus we take another step along the pathway.
Attend Wilmont to prayerfully consider if Wilmont is part of God's plan for your life. You will discover that God's plan is to be your Lord - to involve Himself in every area of your life.

Worship @ 10:45 am on Sunday. You can drop the kids off in children's church all but the fourth Sunday of the month! Plan a visit.

Sunday School is a small group of 8-15 people @ 9:30 am on Sunday to discover relationship. Find a class.

RSVP to attend a free lunch offered once every-other month to meet our staff and find out how to connect with us in meaningful membership.

Have a gospel conversation with a deacon or staff member. This life-transforming opportunity is casual and grace-filled. Fill out a "Connect with Us" card in church or attend the Connect Lunch for more information. (We talk about Jesus a lot!) Contact us for more info.

God built us to grow best around other believers and usually plants us in a fertile place that is healthy for our growth. Begin discovering how your consistent partnership with others in church can help you become more like Jesus.

Baptism is a symbolic act of obedience to Jesus Christ that publicly identifies you as His follower. Biblical baptism should be by immersion, after salvation, and by a church of similar faith.

Discipleship (D)-101 is a small class of 3-8 people taught on Sunday mornings for people wanting to start (over) in their walk with the Lord. While questions and discussion is encouraged, there are no expectations and your verbal participation is purely voluntary. Find out more info about our next session of D101 and register here.

A disciple is a learner. Discipleship is a life-long journey beginning after salvation so we can learn how to be more like Jesus. We do a lot of discipleship because we have a lot to learn!

Join a small group. We have Bible study classes at 9:30 am Sunday mornings for all age groups and walks of life. If you haven't already, begin attending a small group Bible study class.
Next, serve your small group. There are many ways to become a leader and serve your small group. Each group is comprised of a teacher, prayer leader, evangelism coordinator, missions partner, member-care leader, etc. This is where many begin to learn to serve. |

Give One4K. We encourage every member to set aside 1 hour each week to serve in the communities around our church to grow God's kingdom and to glorify the Lord (One hour each week for the Kingdom = 1-4-K). Our church has partnered with some amazing ministries. You can start by serving the ministry itself, which provides a comfortable non-confrontational opportunity for beginners. However, our members find their greatest joy by serving the clients of these ministries in ways that provide opportunities for spiritual and Gospel conversations.

Join a D-Group. Discipleship (D)-Groups are small teams of 3-4 people who are learning to grow together in relationship and accountability first with God then with each other. While joining a D-Group becomes possible through invitation only, we are pretty happy to have just about anyone jump in. D-Groups are being added all the time.

Several times each year we work through training that teaches us to share the gospel with the communities around us. You can be a prayer partner, learner, or leader. There's a place for everyone, regardless of your comfort level in talking with others about the gospel. The goal of Walk the Talk is getting disciples more comfortable in having gospel conversations outside the walls of the church and in developing repeatable training that members can share with others.

The Great Commission gives one command - make disciples of all people. Progressing in your journey from personal discipleship to building disciples is an amazing transformation that offers deep fellowship with Jesus.

After a season participating in a D-Group, find 3 others and create your own D-Group. More about D-Groups.

Instead of hitting the streets as a learner, take others with you as a leader. Train others to Walk the Talk and watch them grow in their enthusiasm to share with others.

Believe it or not, there are basic rules around (biblical) interpretation. Learn the rules and open your understanding of how to study the Scriptures in a non-subjective manner. This discipleship milestone is even helpful for people who don't know Herman! (Bad dad joke.)

Hopefully you have learned the principles of tithing before this point, but did you know that God wants you to be a good steward of all that He has given you? Follow along in Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace Seminar and get your home in order. We recommend couples attend together.

This leg of the discipleship pathway develops lay leaders and vocational ministry leaders desiring to give themselves to kingdom work. Those planning work in missions, church planting, revitalization, pastoring, or other gifts given to the church will find this mentorship helpful. With a heart for developing others, we will partner you with a senior member of our staff who will begin to work on a custom training plan to give you experience in different aspects of ministry. Completing previous legs of the discipleship pathway is a prerequisite to this stage and is important for those wishing to be approved and sent out of Wilmont Place Baptist Church. (Your custom plan may require training opportunities offered off-campus).
